The Bay Area punks Suede Razors graduated to a 12” record with Razor Stomp, which followed a slew of 7” releases that put these bovver rock guys on the map in the punk rock community. The band has forged an energetic sound with influences ranging from '70s glam rock to '80s punk and Oi!. The six tunes here really allow them to show us what they're capable of in a longer setting.

“Ready To Rock” gets the listen off to a fiery start and indeed does rock with hints of the early day of punk in their propulsive, feisty drumming. “TV175” follows with an incendiary rhythm section and gang vocals. Side A ends with one of their signature tunes, the  infectious “Bovver Girl,” which brings jumpy keys to the spirited affair where honky tonk is embraced.

Side B offers us a rerecorded version of their hit “Berling Or Bust,” the charged, hand clappin', foot stompin', organ accenting “All Nighter,” which is glam rock at its finest, and the ultra-catchy “Keep On Rockin',” which will appeal to anyone with an ear for AC/DC of The Rolling Stones in their punk rock.

A band that was formed from members of Harrington Saints, Sydney Ducks, and Hounds & Harlots, Suede Razors is all about old school punk, pub rock, and even mod ideas in their unrelenting formula. Following the release of this 12”, an anthology disc of all their 7”'s plus this 12” came out in 2018 (All The Hits… And Misses), though you can't go wrong with anything in their catalog, especially if bands like The Who, Slaughter &The Dogs, or Cock Sparrer are in your collection.

As always with the Pirates Press Label, you get a download code, a great sleeve, and your choice of vinyl colorways to go along with the top notch music.
